Written by Allegan Bankruptcy Lawyer, John Van Elk
Here are direction to the bankruptcy court from various areas around West Michigan:
Allegan: To get to the Bankruptcy Court from Allegan travel east on M-89 to U.S. 131 and take the ramp (south). Take the downtown exit left into Kalamazoo (the first exit after D Avenue). After a few large bends in the road, the highway enters the city and becomes North Westnedge Avenue. Watch your speed because it is now a 35 mph zone. Continue straight south on this road past three traffic lights (Patterson Street; North Street and Kalamazoo Ave.)
The next light is West Michigan Ave. Turn right and proceed east on West Michigan Ave. Near the end of the block is a large sandstone building with the caption United States Post Office etched in the stone across the very top the building. That is the Federal Court Building in which the hearings and first meetings for Bankruptcy are held. If you turn north at the next stop light (Park Street) you should be able to find parking meters.
